for everyone
Spent yesterday morning breathing in fresh air and resting my eyes, ears and mind in UP Los Banos, an amazing campus (the biggest in the Philippines!) about an hour from Manila. Was just green green green everywhere (along with bugs bugs bugs, but that shouldn't deter anyone)! Was gifted with the best tourguide ever, Jon, who lived in LB for two years and knew all the secret nooks and crannies that truly make a place home. :)

We braved the Viaje del Sol agenda (what a fanatstic tourism initiative, more on this later) and picked out Kusina Salud for lunch, and the tour of the lakes of San Pablo for dessert.

I really love San Pablo! Actually the whole province is wonderful. I want to live there someday. It's rich in culture and it has an interesting history. I miss Laguna. Hindi na kami nakakapunta nila papa. Busy na lagi. :(

Paano pumunta sa Pandin Lake? :)

jappy! hassle pandin lake!! such a let down we didnt get to see it, but let's just say it's san pablo's best kept secret for a reason.. to get to the 20-hectare lake, you'll have to walk/hike through a (muddy) path that passes through houses, etc.. the locals told us the lake's a good 20-30-minute hike.. plus we had to leave our car in a small clearing by the roadside, which we didnt feel too secure about, so we didnt push through-- the site itself is about 10-15 minutes via car from san pablo city, before the border of rizal town.. let me know if you get to visit! wear good hiking shoes, and make allowances for the time to walk there and back :) they say there are bamboo rafts you can ride on the lake, plus merong buko juice for sale.. :)

pao: kusina salud serves lunch buffets every sunday..i liked the food..pinoy food, malinamnam.. wouldve preferred to do a la carte though, which is available everyday for lunch and dinner (except sunday lunch).. merong kalabaw na tapa, etc.. menu sounds interesting :)
