Heard about a cruise around Manila Bay just recently, was surprised to find out it's been around for a while.. Looked online for ferry options, found at least four (sharing below)..
After a number of very enjoyable river/bay rides in Bohol last month, I realized I have a soft spot for water and boats, but was honestly not expecting much from Manila Bay (stench! stench!). Surprisingly though, the "cruise" itself was very relaxing! Well worth the P120 fare.. We were just six passengers, but the staff told us the boat gets filled up on Friday and Saturday nights with families looking to enjoy the fireworks display on the bay. Covers of OPM (mostly APO) were playing in the background, and the wind was a welcome treat on that lazy humid afternoon.
Wish more people support efforts like this so the business gets sustained. It's a cheap thrill in the city--a good alternative to spending P180 on a movie :)
June 7, 2009, Sunday, 5pm Metrostar Ferry, Mall of Asia
My research (from blogs, etc): found at least 4 options for the cruise, including one that involves a charted yacht (sosy!!)... i think the most convenient (and decent, by the look of the pics) is the one that leaves from MOA..
OPTION 1 Sail off into the night with a cruise along Manila Bay. You can choose either the sunset cruise (4-7:30 pm) or the evening crusie (8-11:30 pm). P3200 per couple already includes dinner. Call Paul at 09178456738 / 285-7485 or Val at 09223614544 / 5236648.
OPTION 2 - (info taken from a blog dated January 22, 2009) Manila Bay Dining Cruise On a Saturday - dinner with my college friends day! After strolling Baywalk to death, we ended up cruising!
Prestige Cruise offers a 1.5 hours cruise at Manila Bay. It is located at Harbour Square, CCP Complex. Cruise rates are P250 for cruise alone and P495 for cruise with dinner.
Dont expect much please. The ferry is not classy at all! Plain fun and bonding it is! We availed the 7:45pm schedule but as early as 7pm passengers can already board. I suggest board early so you can choose the area of you want.
Capacity of the ferry is for 50pax only. I noticed that there are only 10 of us in that batch who are Pinoy. All others are Asian visitors. Wow, andami pa din nating bisita despite the crisis. Im happy they're loving Pinas like we do!
Now, the food. The waiters served Mini Tacos. Then Cream of Mushroom soup with Asparagus. For the main course, Grilled Salmon with buttered vegetable. And cupcake.
the so so dinner! Mini Tacos - Cream of Mushroom with Asparagus - Grilled SalmonAgain, dont expect too much. Best to cruise when you're hungry enough to eat anything served infront of you. Believe me, this works!
after the so-so dinner I think more people prefer the 5:45pm sked, the best time for the sunset. But luckily for us, we have some views to enjoy too. The fireworks from Intramuros (probably there's a wedding), after a couple of minutes, the fireworks from Mall of Asia fascinated the passengers.
There is a local band who performs inside. 2 girls are singing Korean/Taiwanese/Japanese/Pinoy songs. Impressive! Asian visitors sang along loudly with them. Later on I talked to the singers, and found out that they dont even know what they're singin. But still, they amazed me! The Asian moms stood up and walked to the center which turned to be their dance floor. Their dance steps are hilarious! But they seem to enjoy dancing so let them enjoy the night.
After 5 or 6 foreign songs, we realized that it was a dinner cruise with cultural show! This cruise is never good for couples. This is not the place to date, ok? But for fun and experience, try this! Something new yet cheap.

in all honesty... pangit yung sa Tenesse Walker. Ang pangit nung band... parang Los Del Rio.... pang bakya crowd... so I'd think twice if I were you guys. Konti ng serving ng food....
OPTION 3 Realship Corp and not from Prestige cruises. You may check out their website at www.realshipcorp.com and numbers at 832-5424.
OPTION 4 (info from Anton's blog dated November 20, 2007) Manila Bay Cruise by Metrostar Ferry @ Mall of Asia Metrostar Ferry Manila Bay Cruise. For P120, you can enjoy a one-hour round trip around Manila Bay. Aidan love boats too so having a one-hour ferry ride was awesome! Most of the Manila Bay cruises have disappeared already when the Manila Baywalk was cleaned up by Mayor Lim.
The Metro Ferry dock is located beside The Shrine of Jesus, The Way, The Truth and the Life (Church across Mall of Asia). I would recommend to take the sunset cruise (5.00pm) or the evening cruise (6.30pm) on Fri/Sat/Sun in time for the MOA fireworks EXPENSIVE snacks are available on board. But you can bring your own food and drinks. Some even brought their own wines during the one-hour ferry trip. The only thing I don't like about the tour is the foul smell of Manila Bay in certain areas we passed by.
